Legal requirements and operator licence for the Attsu fire-tube steam boiler

In Spain, the operation of industrial equipment is strictly regulated by the Pressure Equipment Regulations (REP). Due to the thermal outputs and steam production capacities reached by the Attsu HHE fire-tube steam boiler, ranging from 2,000 to 50,000 kg/h, this equipment is generally classified as Class Two. This means that, by law, the company must have a staff member who holds an Industrial Boiler Operator licence.

This requirement ensures that the responsible personnel understand not only the low-NOx combustion of the burner, but also the safe management of the medium- or low-voltage electrical section of the hybrid model. In addition to the presence of the operator, this fire-tube steam boiler must undergo official periodic inspections, levels A, B and C, carried out by an Authorised Inspection Body (OCA). Compliance with these legal requirements is not only a regulatory obligation, but also a safety guarantee for the plant, ensuring that the control and safety devices, such as the management PLC, operate correctly under any load condition.
