Why does the water in industrial steam boilers need to be analysed?

A company operating any industrial steam boiler must regularly perform blowdowns and extract water for analysis if the machine is to operate properly. These analyses provide information so that the boiler operates right.

The analyses of the feedwater must be carried out at least before it is commissioned, to check that the feedwater supplied is of sufficient quality to form the steam desired, and the water that is kept inside the boiler must be analysed regularly.

Although the characteristics of the water in boilers have traditionally been adjusted using chemical additives, it is possible to improve the water's quality in other ways, as suggested by ATTSU.
