What standard applies to the quality of the inlet water in an industrial steam boiler circuit?

The UNE-EN 12953-10.2003 standard establishes the requirements for the quality of the feedwater for industrial steam boilers. This means that the feedwater must be analysed to check whether or not it can be used in the industrial process.

Several tests must be carried out to determine the water's characteristics, including its hardness, alkalinity or acidity, salinity, turbidity and conductivity.

If the water does not fall within the parameters established by this regulation, it must be treated to bring the quality of the water up to standard before the industrial steam boiler is filled.
