Applications

Food-processing industry

Industrial steam boilers are indispensable today for many of the most important processes within the food industry. Examples include cooking, sterilisation, pasteurisation, pre-cooking and packaging.

Edible products that have a high percentage of water in their natural state are also dried using steam. Food is dried or dehydrated by heating air through an exchanger to avoid direct contact with the heat source. This treatment lengthens the shelf life of these dehydrated foods, which can be stored for long periods of time while retaining all their nutritional properties and taste.

Steam is used to sterilise and pasteurise many types of food. For example, when applied to dairy products, juices and meat products, heat ensures that pathogenic organisms that would put consumers' health at risk are destroyed. It also helps to stabilise processed products. Some products can be treated by means of steam using the appropriate equipment (an autoclave) after they have been packaged.

ATTSU manufactures and installs industrial boilers to suit each client's needs. The most widely used in the food sector are the compact RL model for low and medium power levels, and the HH model for high power with liquid or gaseous fuel and the CS model with biomass fuel.
